AWEFRAME

ABOUT US

  • There is tremendous expertise stored in programs and data on large mainframes that run the essential workloads of most large companies. Recently there has been a great deal of effort to ‘modernize’ these programs by converting them to ‘modern’ languages such as Java.
  • AWEFRAME has another way to breathe new life into these programs. We use an open source version of MVS called TK4 that runs open source versions of Cobol, Assembler, JES, PL/I, ISPF, KICKS, and VSAM.
  • We put MVS/TK4 on a Linux cloud instance, such as AWS EC2, and communicate with it using Java-SpringBoot & Tomcat via TCP/IP and FTP.
  • This way we can spin out instances of complex Cobol/VSAM applications, and put them 'on-demand' into Docker/OpenShift/Kubernetes containers.
  • Your customers can use their browsers to access your reworked nuggets of programs and data running in the cloud.
  • Let our experts at AWEFRAME work with you to find golden nuggets of code and data locked away in your mainframe, and make them accessible in a secure environment that can be accessed by all who can benefit from them.
